Shopify US Domestic 14-Day Return & Refund Policy for Cosmetics

1. Return Eligibility & Timeframe

  • Return Window: Returns are accepted within 14 calendar days from the date of delivery (based on carrier delivery confirmation). Late requests will not be processed.
  • Product Condition Requirements:
    • Unopened cosmetics: Must remain in original packaging with intact seals, labels, and tags; all accessories (gift boxes, samples, manuals) must be complete.
    • Opened cosmetics: Only accepted if the product has proven quality defects (e.g., contamination, abnormal texture, expiration before stated shelf life). Minor usage (e.g., 1-2 tests) is allowed for quality inspection, but excessive use affecting secondary sales will be rejected.
  • Proof of Purchase: A valid order number, receipt, or payment record is required to initiate a return.

2. Non-Returnable Cosmetic Items

To comply with hygiene and safety standards, the following items are non-returnable (even within 14 days):

  • Opened or used personal care cosmetics (e.g., foundation, lipstick, mascara, skincare serums) without proven quality defects.
  • Customized cosmetics (e.g., personalized engraved products, custom shade blends).
  • Cosmetics marked as "final sale" or sold at discounts exceeding 50%.
  • Travel-sized or sample products (unless defective).
  • Products with expired shelf life due to improper storage by the customer.

3. Step-by-Step Return Process

  2. Review & Approval: Our team will review your request within 2 business days. Approved returns will receive a prepaid return label (for contiguous US only) via email.

  4. Warehouse Inspection: We will inspect the returned items within 3-5 business days of receipt. Inspection focuses on product condition, packaging completeness, and validity of defect claims.

4. Refund & Shipping Rules

  • Refund Amount:
    • Eligible returns (unopened or defective) receive a full refund of the product price, excluding initial shipping costs (unless the return is due to quality issues or our error).
    • For defective products, initial shipping costs will be fully reimbursed upon providing valid proof.
    • A 20%-50% restocking fee will be deducted if the product is damaged due to improper packaging or misuse by the customer.
  • Refund Timeline: Refunds are processed within 10 business days of inspection approval and issued via the original payment method. Banks or credit card companies may take an additional 3-5 business days to reflect the refund in your account.
  • Return Shipping Costs:
    • Contiguous US: Free prepaid return labels are provided for all eligible returns.
    • Non-contiguous regions (Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico): Customers bear return shipping costs; no prepaid labels are provided.
  • No Hidden Fees: We do not charge additional handling fees for valid returns.

5. Special Cases & FDA Compliance

  • Quality Defects/Contamination: If the product is contaminated, has abnormal texture, or fails to perform as described (proven by photos/videos), contact us within 48 hours of delivery. We offer free returns, full refunds (including initial shipping), and will report defective batches to the FDA as required.
  • Expired Products: If you receive an expired cosmetic, provide photos of the expiration date and packaging. We will arrange for a free replacement or full refund, including all shipping costs.
  • Wrong/Incomplete Orders: If you receive the wrong product or missing items, notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos. We will cover all return shipping costs and send the correct item or issue a full refund.
  • Rejected Returns: Items that do not meet return criteria will be notified via email. You may choose to have the item shipped back at your own expense or discarded. Unresponsive requests within 14 days will result in automatic disposal.
  • Exchanges: Direct exchanges are not supported. Please complete the return and refund process first, then place a new order for the desired product.
